When you meet Mike, it’s easy to see why he is regarded as such a consummate real estate professional. His 40 years of experience in real estate means he keeps a level head and is always ready to do “whatever it takes” to meet the needs of our clients. His bright demeanor and warm attitude are evidence that he loves what he does, even 40 years on, and his willingness to take on challenges continues strongly.
Mike came to Blacksburg as a Virginia Tech student from his hometown of Martinsville, Virginia. He and his wife, Vickie, who is a native of Wytheville, have enjoyed living in a vibrant community that provides many opportunities for activities and friendships.
Mike has continued his close relationship with the Virginia Tech community. He serves on the Board of Directors of the German Club, holds season tickets for football and both men’s and women’s basketball, is active with the Hokies Hardwood Club and serves as a “Hokie Representative” volunteer for the Virginia Tech Hokie Club. Because Mike knows the value of sports to young people, he is an avid supporter of the Blacksburg Sports Club, where you can find him at lunchtime most Wednesdays. He also enjoys playing tennis a couple of times a week with good friends.
Also very active with the Blacksburg United Methodist Church, Mike serves as an usher captain and on many committees and a youth mentoring program. Another favorite organization is the Blacksburg Breakfast Lions Club, being a member since 1975 and having held most leadership positions. Mike is proud to be a part of Lions International because of the work done locally and internationally. Mike has also served on advisory boards for the Town of Blacksburg and the Board of Directors for the Blacksburg Partnership for many years. His commitment to our community is made apparent in the many ways he serves.
Professionally, Mike believes in the value of continuing education and takes more than the required courses because he feels he owes it to his clients and other REALTORS(R) to be as knowledgeable as possible on best practices and current real estate issues.
